Refuse to Abort, Surgery, NICU, Miracles {I Am Strong}

I am strong because I got pregnant at 19 years old.

I am strong because I finished college. I am strong because at 16 weeks pregnant we found out we were having a boy.

I am strong because at 18 weeks pregnant they told me our son wouldn’t survive and to just abort him.

I am strong because at 20 weeks pregnant they told me our son had posterior urethral valves and couldn’t pee so he had no amniotic fluid.

I am strong because I had 3 surgeries while pregnant to just give him a chance at survival.

I am strong because at 31 weeks and 4 days pregnant I went into labor with contractions every minute apart.

I am strong because despite the doctors telling us he wouldn’t live past his first day of life and wouldn’t breath or anything I didn’t believe them.

I am strong because on March 14 2013 at 1:08 pm I delivered our baby boy and he came out crying at 4 lb 7 oz and 17 in long.

I am strong because our son is now almost 2 months old and still in the NICU expecting to go home in May.

I am strong because despite the odds I believed in my son and I’m so glad I did.

I am strong because when he was 2 weeks old he had to be put on dialysis.

I am strong because they said the dialysis wouldn’t work and he proved them wrong. His creatine was almost a 7 and now its a 1.9 He is our warrior and he has been ever since I got pregnant.

I am strong. And my son is a miracle sent here to be strong for everyone and show them that miracles do happen. {Jessica}

    He is just SO sweet. Yes, that face has a look of determination. It’s amazing how hard a person can fight. Even a very tiny person. God has a plan for this one. Oh please oh please post an update picture when he moves home from the NICU or at least sometime after! What an awesome day that will be!

    Blessings to one very strong mama and baby.

    God bless you and your strength. Your little boy is so beautiful and his eyes tell you everything: he will keep fighting and he will go home and prove everybody wrong!

    Keep us updated!

    Bless your little miracle, he is showing he’s a true fighter. Just goes to show that doctors don’t ”always” get it right. Good on you for following your instincts, your baby boy is lucky to have such a strong mummy believing in him. All the best, enjoy him 🙂

    Thank you for sharing. Just last week I was told one of the twins I’m currently carrying is “incompatible with life.” I have been told to do a selective reduction, aborting the “messed up” baby. In my heart I can’t do it. Thank you for giving me a shred of hope when everyone else just shakes their head and says I’m sorry. Your son is beautiful!

    You are strong, as a woman I am so proud of you and you inspire me to help others faced with this decision..and may God continue to bless the health of your baby. He is in His hands the great physician. You and yours will remain in my prayers…thank you for your story.

    He is a warrior…just like his mama. Good for you to stand up for your little one even before he was born. Mother really does know best!

    Loved reading this! PUV babies are stronger than those doctors think! My son had PUV also. His doctors didn’t have faith he would survive. Then they thought he would be on dialysis until he could get a transplant. Now he is alive and thriving and off of dialysis.
