I Am Strong {Forgiveness Made a Marriage Stronger}

I am strong because a month after I got married I became pregnant with my second child.

I am strong because a month after I found out I was pregnant I found out my new husband had cheated on me, had a one night stand and impregnated the “other woman”.

I am strong because despite all this, and the fact that she was due 3/28 & I was due 3/30 I stayed with my husband and decided to work through this.

I am strong because on top of all of that my pregnancy was extremely hard, I was extremely sick, in and out of the hospital.

I am strong because at the beginning of February I went into preterm labour and was in the hospital for a week, missing my 2 year old little girl.

I am strong because 10 days after that I went into labor again and gave birth to a 4lb 13oz little girl.

I am strong because I had to leave that little girl in the hospital for 18 days.

I am strong because 2 months after having my daughter, my husband had his son, my step son.

I am strong because I took his son in as my own, and have loved him as my own since day one.

We are strong because despite everything my husband and I have gone through, our relationship has surpassed anything I could have imagined.

We are strong because we are a family, all four of us, and we are happy.

i am strong- one night stand

You are strong, I dont think I could handle seeing the other woman or their “love child”. Good for you for keeping your family together through such a heartbreaking time. <3 <3

Wow Krystal, I deeply admire you for your ability to forgive, move on, and do something as strong as raise that little boy alongside your brand new daughter and your older daughter. You are an incredible woman!

you are my hero… Praying the Lord provides deep healing for your heart as you choose forgiveness every day. I would strongly encourage you both to seek out a wise and gentle counselor! Consistent counseling has made my marriage stronger than it ever was, and has been such a source of growth! <3 *HUG*

Wow….short but poignant story. What an inspiration you are. For being the bigger person for not only forgiving your husband for cheating, but for taking in his son and loving him as your own. You are amazing, beautiful and strong. Keep fighting pretty lady 🙂

You are so strong. Does your husband have custody of his son or is it shared? It doesn’t really matter but I had to ask. You are strong and brave for keeping him around and making it work. One thought though…you are technically a family of 5 🙂

You are probably going to hear a lot of negativity, but I am happy for you. My husband cheated on me in the beginning of my last pregnancy. We sat down, talked about whether or not we wanted to stay together, decided what we needed to do to make our marriage work and then agreed that if we couldn’t hold up our own ends of the deal, that we would get divorced. Our marriage has be renewed since then. I don’t think I could forgive my husband if he did it again, but this one time, I can leave alone. We communicate better and are really happy again. I am so happy that you guys have come to a good place and survived that. If your marriage can survive that, it can survive anything.

Thank you so much. I was feeling very alone when this same thing happened to me last week. Just found out my husband is expecting a child with another woman and I am 6 mo pregnant. We have decided that this is something we can work through but it seems like most people cannot. So it’s nice to see other tolerant forgiving people in the world willing to make it work for the kids and themselves!!

My life is similar so I understand your story. 3 weeks after I was married I found out my husband had done the same and was expecting twins in December. I had just had our son together a week after we were married. It was unimaginable pain and hurt, but now almost 9 years later we are still together. Thanks for sharing your story!
