I remember thinking the very same thing when I would hear people in my adopted home of California mention Dr. Sears to support their instinct/desire/choice to sleep with or breastfeed their children. And I felt sad that they needed to mention this man who was a stranger to them to justify/legitimize their intuitive parenting choices.
