Lindsay McCoy is a Hypnobabies Instructor, birth doula, and prenatal yoga instructor in Minneapolis, MN. She captured these pictures at the birth was at Morningstar Birth Center in St Louis Park, MN with Catherine Mascari, CNM.
The mom loved being on the toilet for the majority of her birthing time. When it came time to push the baby out she asked the midwife if she was going to have to move and Catherine assured her that where she was at was just fine.
Here is the amazing mom’s and the midwife’s expression upon finding out it’s a GIRL (everyone except Lindsay guessed boy)!

I love that she was able to birth her baby where she felt comfortable! I personally HATED laboring on the toilet, but only because it hurt so much (which my midwife assured me was because it was WORKING!). Congrats mama! Oh, and I LOVE that last picture… priceless!

You know, I find this so beautiful and amazing! But most OB’s would recoil at the thought of a woman birthing on the toilet because of the thought of random germs and the CHANCE of baby falling into the toilet. *eyeroll*

I just love the look on their faces! I’m much too impatient to wait until birth to find out the sex, but the look of joy is priceless and I bet was well worth the wait!

Am I the only one that has tears come to my eyes when I see these photographs {don’t worry, they’re happy tears}? I loved the midwife’s and mom’s faces at the discovery.

I thought my girl was going to be a boy! I dreamed boy, a friend dreamed a boy, and my midwife dreamed a boy.
When She was born, I was on my hands and knees and my midwife gasped, “it’s a girl!”
She apologized because she usually lets the parents discover this in their own way- we wre ALL surprised- no apology needed!
Beautiful , amazing birth. Thanks for sharing this moment of grace!

I think I would have been more comfortable using a birthing stool… LOL. Beautiful pics, though!
