There is a sweet story behind this picture. After they put baby on mom’s chest to meet person to person for the first time, Ginger with Earthside Birth Photography, told the mama to smell her baby. In this picture, she was doing just that. Taking in the first breath of unconditional, eternal love.

Moment of Birth
I have enjoyed using Earthside Birth Photography’s pictures to make some amazing, fun, powerful statements. Ruthie was kind enough to put this one together for the BWF Blog and all of you. It’s so true mamas. We are incredibly strong and powerful and that moment…THIS moment is when many women realize that they are capable of absolutely anything. The contrast…

Powerful Birth Affirmation
I used this quote during my last labor when my baby kept trying to turn during contractions. I would repeat over and over, “My contractions are not stronger than me, becaue they are me.” It did help! He still came out facing my left leg…but he DID come out! 😉 Photography by Earthside Birth Photography. She is also on Facebook!

Healing Emotionally and Physically From a Cesarean at 29 Weeks
This picture isn’t one from the hospital, as we don’t particularly want to share those. Our baby was born prematurely and it was quite traumatic for us. Here is the story… My waters broke at 26 weeks’ gestation and I spent 10 days in hospital, where I was told that she was lying sideways, I had no amniotic fluid (was…

Overcome Adversity
After a really hard 2 weeks, this really resonates with me. Loss, potential loss, conflict, heartache…have consumed the last 10 days of my life. I will not give up. I will keep holding on. I look forward to the change of tide. This can apply to birth and life. Hold on mamas…just when you think you have to give up, thing…

Where I’m At…Virtue
In backing off Facebook, I am giving more time to myself, my family and yes…my spirituality and faith. If you have followed me any length of time, you know that I am accepting of all and never push religion. However, in being honest about where I am at in life away from Facebook, here it is. Today, among other things,…
