Birth Without Fear Is Wording It Perfectly

Submitted by Brenna.

Birth without fear is wording it perfectly. I gave birth to my son 10 days ago. I  told myself going into the entire experience, “Don’t be afraid. God made our bodies to do this. You’re stronger than you know!”

31+ hours of active excruciating labor, throwing up the entire time with back labor 1/2 way through. But, I was able to follow my birth plan and go completely natural. It was the best decision I could have ever made. I wanted to truly experience what labor and birth had to offer, and although it was THE hardest thing I have ever gone through, I would do it 10 times over to feel what I felt seeing my son for the first time! So worth it!!

The pain is temporary for the greatest reward of your life! I want to thank this page for all the encouraging posts, amazing pictures of other brave mamas, and for empowering woman everywhere to birth without fear.

My labour was in hospital and I ended up having all the drugs as I was so terrified and it had such a negative effect on my body, second time round I wanted to do things differently so I listened to a hypnobirthing CD and read lots of books. I wasn’t scared at all when it came to it and had the most amazing home birth without any drugs at all. I find it so sad now when I hear people say they are scared of it because that fear can really affect the outcome of the birth. I think programmes like One Born are to blame and I didn’t watch it at all during my pregnancy and haven’t since as it’s just not a good representation of birth I don’t think x
