This continues to be something not discussed enough, but needs to be more and more. Please take a listen and share with a mother who has gone through Post Partum Depression (or other similar things).
This podcast interview with Mary from Pretty Pushers and Dr. Lisa Duggan from Clemson University discussed the risks and signs of Maternal Mental Illness, and the holes in our current system that are preventing screening and help for the many women it affects.
Mary says, “I was one of them, so this is close to my heart! Pretty Pushers wants to keep a consistent voice on this topic, and offer resources wherever we can find them.”
You can listen more HERE.
Thank you Mary for opening dialogue so women do not feel alone in this.

I had a baby almost 3 months ago, and by the time she was a week old, I was already suffering from PPD more severe than I had before with my other two babies. Thanks to the urging of some friends, I called the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha and after speaking to a nurse and filling out and emailing patient enrollment forms, I had progesterone shots in hand by the end of the day. I was amazed at how quickly they worked – I was feeling better by the end of the day. I did several doses via injection then a month of oral supplements and I can’t put into words what a huge blessing it was. Here is a short article about the treatment: http://www.naprotechnology.com/depression.htm I am telling everyone I can in attempt to help at least one mama the way I was helped. <3
